Welcome!To the Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre; where we believe in empowering our community through inclusive social support. Through the provision of a range of strategies we ensure that appropriate support services are provided to meet the needs of individuals, families and community groups.
We are an integral part of the Hinchinbrook Shire community and from humble beginnings we have grown to become the hub of a range of support services offered by local and out of town organisations. We are now operating from two premises: The "Hub" on 52 McIlwraith street for all housing and crisis support and the "Centre" on Townsville road where our administration team resides and we coordinate our transport "Out and About" in Ingham and to Townsville for non urgent medical specialist appointments. Some of the services we provide...Community Support Service, Youth Support Service, Community Recovery, Community Transport, Supported Accommodation Assistance, Community Housing, Social Enterprise, Emergency Relief, Community Garden, Information & Referrals, Groups, Budgeting, Practical Counselling, Domestic Violence Assistance, Volunteer Participation, Community Room Hire, Community Response to Eliminating Suicide (CORES™), Educating local childcare workers in supporting children affected by domestic violence.

Non Urgent Medical TransportNow operating every weekday to Townsville to assist people to access specialist appointments and non urgent medical or dental treatment. The service is free with the medical PTSS travel voucher signed by your doctor and presented at the Ingham hospital reception before travelling to Townsville. We offer free pick up in Ingham and fees apply for out of town areas.

Volunteers
We are currently looking for volunteers to assists us in our Emergency Relief program by incorporating the SecondBite initiative into our services.
SecondBite redistributes surplus fresh food to community food programs around Australia. Food is donated by farmers, wholesalers, markets, supermarkets, caterers and events. This high-quality surplus food is redistributed to community food programs that support people who are homeless, women and families in crisis, youth at risk, indigenous communities, asylum seekers and new arrivals.
