WHO CAN ACCESS OUR EMERGE PROGRAM:
The Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre offers the “Emerge Program” to support parents and children who are survivors of and those who are currently being exposed to, Domestic and Family Violence.
As you may be aware Domestic Violence is prevalent in society, and our organisation works hard to promote awareness and provide support to our community.
The sessions will consist of play based, strength focussed therapies, counselling and craft activities.
The aim is to keep it fun and interactive for parents and children, helping victims heal and move forward from their Domestic Violence trauma.
This is a 4-6 week program, offered 1 hour per week.
Emergency Relief Program
Food parcels and vouchers (when funds available) are provided for individuals/families in crisis from 1pm to 3pm Monday to Friday.
Thanks to the Hinchinbrook Shire Council there is now a Community Grants Officer. If you need information on available grants, or have a great idea but need financial support contact Carmon at the Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre. Her role is to support individuals and organisations who wish to apply for Grants for projects that aim to benefit our community. Non Urgent Medical Appointments: HCSC offers a free transport service to Townsville for non-urgent medical patients (PTSS voucher required). Escorts of patients can also travel, please check eligibility and discounted fares. If there is room, anyone may use this service for visits to an inpatient, or medical appointments not covered by the PTSS (e.g. dental), but will have to pay a fee. Contact the Centre for more information.

The bus departs Ingham approximately 2 hours before the first appointment in Townsville. This means that we coordinate our schedule each day depending on the needs of our clients. As soon as everyone has finished with their medical appointments, the bus returns to Ingham.
Timetables may vary due to appointments and we contact everyone travelling the day before to confirm travel and departure times. We will try our best to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable journey.
