Welcome!

To the Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre; where we believe in empowering our community through inclusive social support. Through the provision of a range of strategies we ensure that appropriate support services are provided to meet the needs of individuals, families and community groups.

We are an integral part of the Hinchinbrook Shire community and from humble beginnings we have grown to become the hub of a range of support services offered by local and out of town organisations.

We are now operating from two premises: The "Hub" on 52 McIlwraith street for all housing and crisis support and the "Centre" on Townsville road where our administration team resides and we coordinate our transport "Out and About" in Ingham and to Townsville for non urgent medical specialist appointments.

Some of the services we provide...

Community Support Service, Youth Support Service, Community Recovery, Community Transport, Supported Accommodation Assistance, Community Housing, Social Enterprise, Emergency Relief, Community Garden, Information & Referrals, Groups, Budgeting, Practical Counselling, Domestic Violence Assistance, Volunteer Participation, Community Room Hire, Community Response to Eliminating Suicide (CORES™), Educating local childcare workers in supporting children affected by domestic violence.

Non Urgent Medical Transport

PASSING THE BATON -TRANSPORT SERVICE CLOSURES

TransitCare to take over local transport service from HCSC.
Since 2008, we have been meeting the transport needs of the community. Providing a service not only to the transport disadvantaged, but grandparents, young families, local community groups and events. After 13 years, it has now come time to pass the baton to TransitCare, one of Queensland’s largest and most experienced community transport providers.
TransitCare employs local, friendly and caring drivers who will collect clients from home and take them to medical appointments, or various places around town for shopping, errands, and personal care. They can even take you to Townsville for your appointments.
The TransitCare service is pre-booked and door-to-door, and a small co-payment is charged, depending on the distance travelled. TransitCare is a not-for-profit organisation funded by the Commonwealth and State governments.
For further information regarding travel days and times in your area, phone the TransitCare Contact Centre on 1300 153 636 or visit www.transitcare.com.au
