Carol and Sylvia have been witness to many changes within the community and with the growth of the centre. Over the years HCSC has expanded from one room in the ex. Salvation Army building in Herbert Street known as the CIC, Community Information Centre to moving into the Townsville Road building in 1983, the name change in 1995 to its current name of Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre and now operating out of two buildings. These ladies have been the consistency behind the success and growth of HCSC for 35 Years. We Thank You.
The celebrations took place in our new outdoor BBQ area situated at the Hub, many staff members and volunteers came to join in and congratulate both Carol and Sylvia for their loyalty to the Organisation.
Carol and Sylvia received from the organisation a gift and certificate of appreciation which were presented by Andrew Cripps and accompanied by Major Rodger Bow. Andrew really put this achievement into perspective when he said to Carol and Sylvia “you have been volunteering longer than I’ve been alive.”
