Do you have a great idea? Is it something that would benefit our community? Have you thought of applying for a grant? If you don’t know where to turn, and could do with some advice, why not contact Ross at the Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre. He is the newly appointed Grants Officer funded by the Hinchinbrook Shire Council and his role is to assist community organizations, individuals, businesses, and groups to access and apply for Community Grants. In the past two months Ross has supported 15 community organizations and individuals to complete their applications. There are many opportunities, for example the funding round for the Gambling Community Benefit Fund is about to open with closing date at the end of November. Ordinarily, grant amounts vary between $500 and $50,000 with larger grant funds expected to become available in 2015. Ross has extensive experience in the area of grant applications and in particular the financial aspect of the process. The Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre has prepared and submitted 18 grant applications totalling $300,000.
