SLIDESHOW: we have certainly come a long way and it was fantastic to be able to showcase our achievements to visiting dignitaries and local community members.
On Friday afternoon, 1st August the Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre celebrated the official opening of their new premises the “HUB” in McIlwraith St. The opening was an opportunity for staff, management and volunteers of HCSC to gather together to celebrate their achievement in purchasing and renovating a flood free premises to conduct their critical services. Sponsors who contributed to the project were invited to share the celebration with Senator Matthew Canavan, representing Minister Warren Truss, Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Honourables Bob Katter MP and Andrew Cripps MP, Mayor Rodger Bow and Lyn McLaughlin from Regional Development Australia. After the formal proceedings, guests were invited to cut the ribbon and join in a celebratory photo and the cutting of the cake. The diversity of people in attendance reflected the impact that HCSC has on our community: “always there, caring and connecting”.
