Bulk Waste Support Program - Wrap Up 🪑🛌

The Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre (HCSC) in partnership with Council, has now completed this round of bulk waste pickups from eligible residential and village-zoned residents of our Shire.

56 households were assisted during the period with 6.18 tonnes of bulk waste collected. 🚚

Well done to Luke and staff at the HCSC for providing this important service to vulnerable members of our community. 🙂

This FREE event is held in conjunction with Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month of May and aims to promote the importance of Domestic and Family Violence Awareness, Support Services available to create Safer Families and improve health and social wellbeing amongst mainstream and Indigenous members of our community. There will be information stalls with local and visiting support services, free children’s activities, free sausage sizzle, free face painting, guest speakers and local entertainment.

This year we have an amazing Guest Speaker Dave, from SMALL STEPS 4 HANNAH FOUNDATION, which exists to HALT the cycle of domestic violence so that everyone can feel respected, informed, confident to act, and safe.

Touch one family’s life for the positive, will successfully change for the positive, the lives of all within that family, all interconnected with that family and the future lives of unborn children.
